University Faculty App

I led the project in 2022 as the primary designer working with a team of four UX/UI designers and three developers over three months.

The challenge wasn't just technical, it was cultural. Students had grown accustomed to hunting for information across Facebook groups and an outdated website. The faculty's history should have been a point of pride, but it was presented in ways that made people tune out. We needed to solve both problems at once: create a practical tool students would actually use and make the anniversary celebration something they'd care about.

Managing a design team with limited resources meant getting creative with workflow. I established a collaborative framework using Miro for planning and Figma for design work, making sure all four designers could contribute without stepping on each other. Communication was tight, and we leveraged open-source resources to maintain quality without breaking the budget. The efficiency mattered because we didn't have room for wasted effort or endless revision cycles.

The animation work became a defining feature. Using Adobe After Effects, I created transitions and micro-interactions that brought the interface to life without being distracting. Each animation had a purpose, whether it was guiding attention to new content or making navigation feel intuitive. The goal was sophisticated and approachable at the same time, which meant every motion decision needed to reflect the faculty's professional identity while staying accessible to students who just wanted to check their schedule.

The results exceeded expectations. 70% of students downloaded the app, and feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Students appreciated having a single place to check timetables and news without hunting across platforms. The accessibility improvements meant everyone could use it regardless of device or ability. The app is still running today, which speaks to how well it solved the core problems students were facing.

The director of the art academy personally recognized my work with an award, which was gratifying. But the real measure of success was watching students actually use the app daily. We created something that honors the faculty's 25-year journey while making life easier for current students. Sometimes the best design solutions are the ones that fade into the background and just work.
